The Classics – Classical Civilization Emphasis program of study at University of Arizona includes courses chosen from the Greek (modern or ancient) or Latin language; art and archaeology; literature, studied in the original language or in translation; and the classical tradition and heritage of the Mediterranean civilizations.

The Department of Classics offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics. Students may participate in excavations, travel, or study abroad programs in Egypt, Greece, and Italy.

The Classics – Classical Civilization Emphasis program of study at University of Arizona also offers museum internship opportunities. In addition, a number of courses offered in the Department of Classics are cross listed and may be used toward a major or minor in other undergraduate programs.
