This Advanced Transportation Engineering (Certificate NDP) program from University of Arizona prepares individuals to apply mathematical and scientific principles to the design, development and operational evaluation of total systems for the physical movement of people, materials and information, including general network design and planning, facilities planning, site evaluation, transportation management systems, needs projections and analysis, and analysis of costs.
Civil and Architectural Engineering and Mechanics
The department offers programs leading to the Master of Science and the Doctor of Philosophy degrees with a major in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. Work is directed toward research and professional development in such areas as engineering mechanics, engineering materials, highway engineering, hydraulics and fluid mechanics, geomechanics, geo-technical engineering, water resources, structural engineering, and transportation engineering.
Certain interdisciplinary options such as regional development and urban planning, and environmental engineering are available by combining various areas of the program with programs in other departments.
Program Structure
- The certificate requires that students take four-3 unit courses (12 units) from an approved list of courses in the area of Transportation engineering in the CEEM department. Students must earn a GPA of 3.0 in these courses.
