Public Health – Industrial Hygiene degree offered by the University of Arizona focuses on worker protection. The Master of Public Health – Industrial Hygiene (IH) track is ABET accredited and requires 45 credit hours to complete. Students interested in admission are required to have completed one year of calculus and general or inorganic chemistry, and at least one semester of organic chemistry and physics, in addition to the MPH biology requirement. Industrial Hygiene is the science and art devoted to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, presentation, and control of those environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace which may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being, or significant discomfort among workers or among citizens of the community.
