MIS professionals are the “communication bridges” between IT and the business community. They analyze, design, implement, and manage IT applications and strategies to help solve business problems. MIS students first learn business processes and then analyze how to improve the processes using IT.
MIS professionals secure positions in website design and development, consulting, security risk assessment, internet marketing, Sarbanes-Oxley audit control, business analysis, customer relationship management consulting, eCommerce, legal forensics, medical records automation, enterprise resource planning, and supply chain management.
Eller College MIS students are prepared for the future because they learn more than technical skills — they learn how to apply technical skills in support of business processes.
The online Management Information Systems – Online degree offered by the University of Arizona offers students the flexibility to study anywhere in a 100% online environment, complete the courses faster through a 8 week accelerated format and choose the order of their classes. Students complete ten courses that will equip them with critical management and advanced technology skills needed to become a leader and decision-maker in the technology field. Embedded in the MISonline master’s degree are two graduate certificates – the Enterprise Security Certificate and the Business Intelligence and Analytics Certificate. Both certificates provide in-depth knowledge on two of today’s hottest and high-growth IT fields.
“Choosing the Master’s program for Physiological Sciences at the University of Arizona was one of the best decisions I could have made in my education. Our department is warm and collaborative, offering an array of research topics and techniques underneath a vast and integrative umbrella of physiology. Beyond my research experience, I was presented with teaching opportunities, which I feel honed my skill of scientific communication. Having the dynamic research/teaching/class schedule not only kept me active but helped me reinforce material in multiple contexts. Overall, this program was exactly what I wanted in my segway into the medical sciences… and with my teaching assistantship paying for my tuition, how could I say no?”
