The Doctor of Nursing – General at University of Arizona is similar to other practice doctorates such as the MD, JD, and PharmD. Graduates of the DNP program are prepared as advanced practice nurses.

Please note, the MS-DNP option is only available to students with prior certification as a nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, nurse anesthetist, clinical nurse specialist or an MS-prepared nurse with experience in informatics who wish to obtain the DNP without seeking a new practice specialty.
